# Roamwise — local clickable prototype

Original HTML/CSS/JavaScript implementation created 23 October 2026 for a self-initiated concept. It extends the written study with an actual interactive demonstration. The old AI-assisted catalogue scene remains separately labelled; the pictured editor and sketches are not the source files for this prototype.

## Try the flow

1. Open the live prototype through the Roamwise project study.
2. Search Lisbon or Jaipur for 1–14 nights, with 1–4 guests.
3. Filter or sort the fictional stays and select one.
4. Choose an eligible room; inspect the dates, guest count and sample cost breakdown.
5. Review the trip and complete the sample flow. The final screen creates an in-memory `DEMO-RW-0001` reference, not a reservation.

## Included states

- Date and guest validation with inline errors.
- A short loading state when searching the fixed in-memory data.
- Kyoto demonstrates an empty destination result.
- Filters can produce a no-match state and be cleared.
- The footer's Prototype controls can simulate a search error once; Try again then returns sample results without losing the trip.
- Rooms with insufficient capacity are disabled.
- Price totals update by chosen room, guest-compatible base room and number of nights. The illustrative service fee is INR 900 per stay.
- In-app navigation and browser Back/Forward preserve the current session's trip state. Reload starts a fresh default sample.
- Mobile layouts, native form labels, fieldsets, focus indicators, a skip link, announcements and reduced-motion support are included. These features are not a claim of a formal accessibility certification.

## Scope and data

All hotel names, rooms, amenities, prices and availability are fictional samples. Lisbon, Jaipur and Kyoto are destination labels only. No real hotel inventory, map, API, payment, account, personal-data form, analytics, email or server storage is used. INR is the prototype's display currency even for overseas destinations. Revision 26 October replaces the original vector scenes with five credited stock photographs and a working gallery. They provide atmosphere, not verified photographs of the fictional properties. See photography/credits.html and credits.json.

This is a front-end interaction prototype. It has no booking backend, production security review, payment integration, real availability or user-research results. A real product would require those separately, along with validated pricing and terms.

## Source files

- `index.html`: accessible document shell and persistent demo controls.
- `prototype.css`: responsive components and visual system.
- `prototype.js`: sample dataset, date validation, state transitions, filters, room choice, totals and photographic gallery helpers.

The licensed Inter and Bricolage font files are referenced from `../../assets/` in the portable portfolio pack. Keep that folder structure when copying the prototype.

The visual revision uses photography-v3.css alongside the original component stylesheet. Photograph sources and credits are in photography/credits.html.
